Description
Classic early 20th-century Indestructo steamer trunk manufactured by the National Veneer Products Company of Mishawaka, Indiana. Constructed with a handsome wood veneer exterior reinforced by hardwood battens, heavy pressed steel corner guards, and original blackened steel hardware. The front retains its original Indestructo registration plaque and central locking latch, while the interior features its original fabric lining and branded luggage retaining straps. Designed to withstand the rigors of rail and steamship travel, Indestructo trunks were among the finest American travel trunks of their era and remain highly sought after today as coffee tables, blanket chests, and decorative storage pieces.

Condition:
Good antique condition consistent with age and use. Original hardware, handles, identification plaque, and interior lining remain intact. Exhibits scattered surface wear, scratches, minor veneer losses, staining, small edge chips, and isolated splits, including a small veneer loss to one corner and a puncture to the top panel. Interior shows age-related discoloration and wear but remains clean and serviceable. Locking mechanism is present; key not included.
