Description
A striking and highly functional solid oak hall tree bench, masterfully crafted in the early 20th century, combining bold sculptural form with everyday practicality. Executed in richly grained oak, the piece displays dramatic figuring throughout, enhanced by a warm, time-earned patina.
The tall, shaped back rises elegantly with a stylized carved crest, lending a refined decorative presence. At center, a beveled mirror inset on the diagonal adds visual interest and utility, framed by the flowing silhouette of the backboard. Flanking the mirror are three original cast brass hooks, ideal for coats, hats, or accessories.
The seat features a lift-top compartment, revealing convenient hidden storage—traditionally used for gloves, scarves, or small personal items—making this an exceptionally practical entryway piece.
