Description
Description:
Handcrafted Arts & Crafts hammered copper coal hod featuring a beautifully mottled hand-hammered finish, riveted construction, stylized Tudor rose medallion, and hand-forged iron legs with splayed feet. The hinged lid is decorated with a repoussé border and opens to reveal a spacious interior for coal, kindling, firewood, or decorative storage. Rich natural oxidation and warm copper patina highlight its authentic early 20th-century craftsmanship. An outstanding decorative accent beside a fireplace or in an Arts & Crafts, Tudor, Mission, or English country interior.
Condition:
Good antique condition with an exceptional aged copper patina throughout. Displays expected oxidation, surface wear, and age-related discoloration consistent with long-term use. Interior exhibits areas of corrosion and several small perforations to the bottom from historic use, making the piece best suited today as decorative fireplace décor or light storage rather than carrying loose coal. Hinged lid operates properly and overall structure remains solid.
Dimensions: 14 inches H x 12.5 inches W x 12.5 inches D
