A handsome and authentic early 20th century oak ice box by Cavalier, embodying the sturdy craftsmanship and utilitarian elegance of the Arts & Crafts era. Constructed of solid oak with a warm, time-earned patina, this antique refrigerator cabinet features its original multi-door configuration with heavy brass hardware, latches, and hinges, all contributing to its industrial charm.
The interior retains its original porcelain-lined compartments, fitted with wire shelving and drainage provisions, designed for ice-cooled food storage. The top opening with metal collar indicates the original ice chamber, while the lower compartments provided organized storage for perishables. The original brass manufacturer’s plaque marked “Cavalier – Cork Lined – Tennessee Products Mfg. Co., Chattanooga, TN” adds to its authenticity and collectible appeal.
