Western Rustic Lodge Console / Sofa Table with Cast Moose Panel, a striking and highly decorative Western lodge table by noted Wyoming craftsman John B. Mortensen, executed in his signature rustic idiom. The piece is constructed from hand-selected lodgepole pine, retaining its natural contours, knots, and organic character, lending an authentic mountain aesthetic. The rectangular top showcases beautifully figured grain with prominent knotting, further enhanced by a glass protective surface.
The base is composed of sturdy, hand-joined branch-form supports, unified by stretchers and centered by a cast metal panel depicting two moose within a mountainous landscape, finished in a verdigris patina. The panel is signed “Mortensen © 1992,” reinforcing its authenticity and period craftsmanship. The combination of natural wood and sculptural metalwork exemplifies Mortensen’s celebrated Western design language, making this an exceptional statement piece for a lodge, ranch, or mountain-inspired interior.
Condition:
Very good, sturdy condition. Minor surface wear, natural checking, and expected age-related marks to the wood. Glass top present and in good condition. Metal panel shows an attractive, even patina. Please view all photos for condition.
